Downloadable electronic books: Starting
in May the SAILS library network will begin offering downloadable electronic
books for your listening pleasure. The online service is provided
through OverDrive Audio Books. This technology allows users to
download various popular audio books on to their computers and then to MP3
players for their own private limited-time use. To start with, the
SAILS system will be offering about 100 titles that may be "checked out"
through your home computer. Information on how to use this new service
can be found by clicking on the appropriate tab on the SAILS home page (see
icon to the left).
Other News: The
Blanding now has a book cart in the foyer of Goff Hall with a small
selection of quality used books for sale for $1 or less. We regret we
cannot accept any more used books at this time. We continue to offer
"take some, bring some" bins of free magazines. We ask that people
drop off magazines only, no catalogs please.
